Drawing God Project

Inspired by our partnership with The Church in the 21st Century Center's Children's Ministry Partnership (Boston College), CPI has launched the Drawing God Project to inspire families throughout Western New York to think and talk about how they see God!

Drawing God By Karen Kiefer

Emma returns from a field trip to the art museum and is inspired to draw like Picasso. She feels inspired to draw something beyond spectacular—she decides to draw God. Find out what happens when her classmates can’t see God in any of her drawings, and watch her contagious faith help open their eyes, minds, and hearts.

A Note from the Author

God is always working. During at trip to the grocery store, I overheard two young kids talking as a parent was shopping nearby. One said to the other, “My mother said you shouldn’t talk about God in school because it makes people feel uncomfortable.” I couldn’t believe my ears. So, I began to pray and ask God how we might get more people talking about God. A few weeks later, I began to draft the story, “Drawing God.” My hope is through encountering Emma and her contagious faith, this story will inspire more people to think and talk about how and where they see God. Please know that I am with you on your drawing God journey.
